Slow Sunday: Coffee & Notebooks

"What struck me most was the silence between sentences — nobody rushed to fill it."
Six of us around one small table, three hours, no phones. We began with the usual weather and work, and ended somewhere else entirely: what we are each paying attention to, and what has been patiently waiting for it.
Someone read a paragraph from their notebook aloud. Someone else cried a little, laughing at the same time. The coffee went cold and nobody minded.
We left slower than we arrived. Something shifted — it always does.
Leave one line
For the people who were there — one line is enough.
The next table is being set.
